Turnovers are made fresh, every single day at opening and sold throughout the day. Depending on the day and how many are sold, staff (usually managers) discard what wasn't sold by 4pm. And the turnovers are baked fresh again and are sold until close, and then that wasn't sold is discarded. They aren't allowed to make any more batches a day than 2.
It's called being lazy. Unless they didn't have them at the time and didn't want to tell you. Maybe they didn't know how to make them.. You should call the manger and ask..
