My apartment has mold and I told the landlord, so they sent letters to the tenants that they need to open the windows when you shower. No humidifier. Open windows if you are cooking, etc. It's obviously because they know that there's a mold issue.

Hey Beth! HUD really deals with the fair housing act, so discrimination by landlords on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, disability, and familial status. It doesn't sound like they'd be able to help with your mold issue. However, mold may be a breach of the warranty of habitability. See https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/colorado-rules-regarding-mold-rental-properties.html for Colorado information. I don't know what state you are in, but you should Google local housing authorities to call and see if they have any advice that might help you. Hope this helps!
