Yes, Flushing is accessible for walkers and wheelchairs. You will need a Queens Library card. Note that there are 3 library systems in NYC -- Queens, Brooklyn and New York (Manhattan, Bronx and Staten Island). If you're a resident of NYC you can get cards for all 3 systems.
Manhattan card is for NYPL(NY public library) that is a different library. However, I knew that NYPL allows its users to borrow books from the Brooklyn Public Library and Queens library. But I don't know if you can do it from QL to NYPL. Get a library card, it's too easy, in 5 min you will get it. Take with you, an picture Id, and a proof of address of applicant's name and address.
