An hour+ would be plenty IMO
We weren't there long as it was our last stop.before heading home saw the magna carta Dec of independence Bill of rights and the constitution in about 30 mins as we were on a tight schedule! We got there around 12 so no queue to get in and there wasn't that many people there
We went towards the end of the day, around 3-4 and it took us about 5-10 min in line and then about 20-30 min to see each document. We didn't spend much time looking at anything else. We were out of there in under an hour.
You can stay as long as you like, but the actual room where the documents are can get very crowded. We just went from left to right and saw the declaration of independence and the constitution then moved on.
Takes a while to get inside, and is busy most of the time. Probably an hour or two total depending what you look at.
Not too long maybe 45 minutes
The main exhibit is a set of original documents central to the founding of the country: the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and a few others. This is a good exhibit, but I can't really read much in there because of the lighting and the faintness of the writing - these are really old and light-sensitive documents. So you might spend somewhere between half an hour to an hour in there. Then, there are some more modern exhibits, which are usually more readable for me at least. Finally, there's usually one or two special exhibits, which could be all sorts of things. Last Sunday, in honor of Juneteenth they showed General Order 3 proclaiming freedom, and the only copy of the Emancipation Proclamation that's "official". So, depending on what you want to see, you could spend three hours or more in there. The museum store is surprisingly good too!
We were her for 45 minutes it was wonderful to see it was are first time here
We spent almost 2 hours but you could easily spend more.
2 hours more if you want to read everything
It should take about an hour to get a good experience with all of the interactives and documents. If you really want to see every single detail, it should take 2-5 hours, depending on your pace.
