Yes you do not need tickets all tickets do is get you in faster
They do not require tickets for entry, however the wait is considerably longer without. We waited for about two hours, arriving to enter the line around 10. Tickets were not available when we searched as the openings were about 3 months out in advance. We just didn't seek tickets early enough.
