Ok there are 2 options for using this food bank. The first is going in as an emergency with no money and no food stamps. They give you 1 box with non perishables and you can go through and they will allow you to pick from donated items. They do not include any meat in this situation. The second option is if you have $20 cash or money left on food stamps you get 1 bag of frozen meats, usually a lb.of ground turkey and ground beef along with either a whole chicken or leg quarters. Then you will receive another bag of fresh produce and you can do the walk through all the other donated items. With the $20 program you can go every Friday. I'm sorry I don't know how often you can do the free program.
I go to this particular food bank twice a month for food. They stopped the emergency food box a couple of months ago.
The food bank on Javelina drive no longer distributes emergency food boxes. In addition to the $20 purchase, you can come EVERY Friday to get free donated food. SNAP and cash are accepted.. Starting November 2,2017 debit will be accepted
So how do you know that they're not going to distribute the boxes anymore? do you work there?
