What a great place to give back! We took the Brophy lacrosse team for an evening of filling emergency food bags.

This is a great group service experience. It is highly organized and mostly does the same thing each side. This is about the feeling of bags with donated food. Highly recommend this for groups of youth and individuals.

I would like to say yes Emma. I believe they are doing in person again. I would call to be sure.
Yes, the Help Yourself co-op will be open from 8a-12pm. Please visit unitedfoodbank.org for full details.
No need to bring anything. They ask for basic information like name, address, # of members in the household, etc.
Are you in Gilbert I'll take some ?
Yes.
Yes we need healthy volunteers! Please visit volunteeraz.org to sign up!
Try some of the smaller food banks. They will be more likely to be able to give it out on a smaller scale. United serves hundreds of families on Fridays.
Hi Cristina - United Food Bank does not distribute emergency food boxes directly to clients. However, you can visit any of our partner agencies to receive food assistance. A list of local food banks can be found here http://www.azfoodbanks.org/index.php/foodbank/. Additionally, we do one distribution per week called Help Yourself. Our Help Yourself Purchase Cooperative at our Javelina location happens Fridays from 8am-12pm. Here is more information about this program: https://unitedfoodbank.org/get-help/help-yourself-purchase-cooperative/. Thank you!
You get 5 pounds of your choice of meats, then you go down the line and pick up tons of other stuff. Every week is different and there are tons of staff to help and explain as you go. Everyone is so friendly!
Yes call & ask bc United may not be the right contact for this situation.
Today they have a Grant and I have never seen the lines this long
The one in Mesa opens at 8 a.m. closes at noon $20 gets you four different types of meat or you could choose to have just one tight it's normally chicken pork chorizo bacon ground beef and then there is normally several different types of vegetables and fruits to pick from and there is always bread rolls Etc you get more than $20 worth
They have what's called a "Walk Thru" that is FREE You will get Fruit/Vegetables and you can choose your Bread selections.
Yes, we will take baby formula. You can drop it off at 245 S Nina Dr Mesa between 8am and 2pm, Monday thru Friday.
Call United Food Bank. Let them know you need an emergency food box. They have them packed and ready. They are filled with non perishables and free. Friday is the Help Yourself program 8 am to noon if you can wait til then they can give you the box at that time and if you have $20 in food stamps, credit, debit or cash you can go through the line for fresh produce and meats.
If you don't have money you can still do walk though for free
No they do not deliver. People show up in taxies and Uber rides.
Ok there are 2 options for using this food bank. The first is going in as an emergency with no money and no food stamps. They give you 1 box with non perishables and you can go through and they will allow you to pick from donated items. They do not include any meat in this situation. The second option is if you have $20 cash or money left on food stamps you get 1 bag of frozen meats, usually a lb.of ground turkey and ground beef along with either a whole chicken or leg quarters. Then you will receive another bag of fresh produce and you can do the walk through all the other donated items. With the $20 program you can go every Friday. I'm sorry I don't know how often you can do the free program.
You don't need id or proof of anything. You can bring bags if you'd like. We normally have boxes on hand to pack your food.
