I went in to have my DL redone in 2014 (new picture and thumbprint,before DL expired). Why do I need to come in to renew my license since nothing has changed in 5 years? DL lines are long and it's a hardship to wait 4 hours

There are options to get in line by way of the internet and to renew online to get one in the mail. I was in line for 45 minutes from start to finish with my license in hand.

Since you did these changes before your DL expired you need to complete again to stay with the terms of your DL. I think you have to check n the morning of the day you want to go to get an online reservation. If it's not letting you do it online. Good luck

Depends. If you have a limited term license, you WILL have to go to the DPS personally. Else you could get it renewed online.

Do the get inline online. Check for the option on internet and you can reserve a spot for you and avoid waiting for long hours.
