For a car or cdl permit
Bring your birth certificate or your us passport. Bring your social security card. Pick up a VOE Form from your school's attendance office. Bring your DE-964 proof of Drivers Education certificate. Your parent must accompany you and bring two proofs of Texas Residency, i.e. water gas electric cable Bill's from the preceding month. Fill out form DL-14B and bri.g all these things to the DL Office.
Make an appointment, triage you and you wait for them to call your number and you go for a driving test with them. Take a test, get photo and done. You can look on their website for specific details.
