My old friend is very ill, and wants to transfer his pistols from his permit to my permit and possession. Problem is , he is too ill to travel to appointment at permit office. How can we make this happen before his demise ?

Couldn't he just gift them to you and then you bring them in to register in your name? I'm guessing he doesn't need to be there as long as documents are completed, signed,dated. Similar to a will transfer.

I would call or go to a FFL and have them process the transfer and background check, go to pistol permit office and transfer to your card, then return to FFL to complete the transaction
