I paid off my mortgage last August. I was told I would receive proof that it was paid off. This is April 209 - why have I not received it?
It depends on the lender, so you should double check with them first. Often the lender will send the release of mortgage to the county to be recorded. The recording fee should be included in the payoff. However, sometimes the lender will send the release directly to you, in which case it is your responsibility to make sure it is recorded.
