Who thought it was a good idea to make the landings basically out of concrete?

It's probably so the jumps won't wear away through usage and rain.

They just changed this pretty recently, it wasn't like this a couple years ago.

Dirt gets compacted. Just air your tires up & stiffen your suspension, you'll be fine.
