Hi Denise, Whether or not you’ll miss treatments in the interim depends on what type of cancer you have, what type of treatment you’re receiving and what hospital you’re being treated at currently. Many times when patients come in to Fox Chase, our doctors re-evaluate their treatment plan to ensure it’s appropriate because it could be the case that the care you’re receiving at your current medical center does not provide the best pathway to survivorship or doesn’t give you the full range of options. We apologize that this isn’t a cut and dry answer that you may have been looking for. But, we’re here to help. The best thing to do is to call us at 888-FOX-CHASE and ask to speak to a nurse navigator about setting up an appointment for a second opinion. If it is possible to transfer your care, the navigator will guide you through the process. Thanks for reaching out!
