Morning Linda, Fox Chase Cancer Center does not have an Emergency Room. If you're having a medical emergency, we encourage patients to go to the ER of Jeanes Hospital, which is on our same campus. If you're a patient with a less-urgent medical need in between doctor visits or treatments, you may also be directed to Fox Chase's Direct Referral Unit (DRU), which is a 100-bed hospital. This area provides care for Fox Chase outpatients upon referral by their primary Fox Chase medical, surgical, or radiation oncologist. We always encourage our patients to call 215-728-6900 to speak with the Fox Chase doctor on call, who will direct you where to go. Should you elect to go to the Jeanes ER, then please let the staff know that you are a Fox Chase patient and your care team will be notified. Hope this helps!
There is a sort of ER, when I had pain issues last year, my FC oncologist called the ER and they took me in. Not a lot can be done there, except for administering pain med via IV.
Use Jeanes Er
