Yes. You have to pay just to go in and pick out a pumpkin. On the weekends that amount goes toward your purchase but on the weekdays it does not.

It's 5$ entrance per person to get into the pumpkin patch. During the weekdays that goes towards your purchase.

I don't think so. My family was invited to an event that took place at Kuwahara so, unfortunately, I don't have a short answer for you. I see they have some tickets on sale depending on the day you visit so I'd suggest to visit their site and request more information.
