My license expired during covid (while away from us) and couldnt go back home till now. I plan to visit nyc in sept. Do i have to start from obtaining a permit first? (Ive been driving with nyc license for 25 years)

My suggestion would be to actually visit the location and hear first hand what their recommendation is on how to proceed.
