Is it secure? I recall coming here back in 2003 and the place had a fence and a gate, with a guard at night. Maybe the neighborhood improved?

Yes it feels alot less safe now. There's is a fence but it feels like if you left your doors unlocked someone would break in

Stayed there in May of 2018. Very relaxed site. Left motorcycles parked on side of road and took train into downtown each day. No problems.

We've stayed a few times and have always felt safe. Not sure about security. The neighborhood is probably the same as you remember.
