Is the venue friendly for kids to come to a concert? Specifically 8-10 year old. Would they stand and look at the back of the person in front of them, or is the tiered floor sufficient to ensure everyone can see?

I would say it's not overly kid friendly at that age. As standing room only, they might have trouble seeing the stage. It is not a tiered stage. I am 5'7 and was a few rows of people back from the stage and still struggled at times for a good view It also gets QUITE crowded.

It's all standing on a flat floor.so short people won't be able to see good

If you're referring to the Fillmore, the indoor venue, I would say it's not really kid friendly unless the concert is specifically geared towards kids (I've never seen that personally). But if you're referring to the outdoor pavilion venue at the NC music Factory(Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre), yes, that is tiered and probably more suitable for kids.

I believe that's the place my kids and I sat on the lawn to watch Jason Mraz and it was wonderful.
