Southview dentistry failed when they were needed most. I fell on a scooter and smacked my front teeth into the sidewalk. I spent an entire night in the ER. The ER did cranial bone scans & didn’t find cranial damage. They said to see a dentist for dental issues. (There were 3 chipped teeth & extreme pain.) I went to Southview dentistry the next day for the dental exam. They saw my bruised face, looked at the teeth, and another appointment was scheduled a month later. Only after asking was I informed that the tooth roots would possibly die. A month later I went in for the appointment. There was an active abscess, caused by bacterial infection, popping out of the gums. Southview filled the teeth to make them look ‘pretty’, then referred to an Endodontist. I have now been working with the Endodontist for 8 months, hoping that the upper jawbone damage caused by the abcess, will repair itself. Haven’t been able to eat normally for nearly a year, and there’s no telling if I’ll ever be back to normal. Bottom line - Southview dentistry is too focused on cleanings & profitable routines. They were unable to provide the actual medical care I required in my time of need, and now I’m paying the price. I recommend finding a dentist more focused on care than comfort. You’ll thank yourself later! Edit: What’s ‘proper procedure’? Do you understand you are an emergency room?

This is a wonderful office with friendly staff and knowledgeable dentists! They always make me feel comfortable every time I’m there. Couldn’t recommend southview more!

I have been going to this dentist for many years. The dentists are great and I like their hygienists. The issue there is the office manager - she is completely obnoxious. I had a routine visit, they did a procedure (x-rays) that they told me was covered under my insurance plan. I asked specifically if it was covered, and was told it was. When I left, I asked if I owed anything, they said again, "no, you're all set". Then I got a bill for that procedure. Come to find out that they had not checked my insurance plan for about 5 years, and they are a provider for my insurance. In an attempt to resolve the situation after I was transferred to the office manager I was told to either pay it or it would go to collections. The bill was received yesterday, and already had that it was past due 60 days. So I will pay the small bill ($50); but they will lose a customer and will be more than happy to tell anyone else I know about their poor customer service all due to the rude and threatening manner of their obnoxious office manager. As to comment to "fully informed" prior to the appointment - complete lip service, I asked SPECIFICALLY what was covered under my insurance and they said YES this was covered. But since I have them a bad review they have since dismissed me as a client; so it looks like they only allow good reviewers to be their patients. Regardless - their office manager is obnoxious and threatened collections within the first 2 minutes of a call with her. My advice - stay away, their patients obviously don't come first.
