If your dog is dominating, and if it is not drawing blood, if it is barking or growling at other dogs and trying to physically dominate, if you leash him, it changes everything at that moment. He goes into protection mode. You are not giving him the time.to work things out in the "school yard" per se. If you let the dogs work it out in a group while moving in the same direction with other dogs and owners, the behavior is normal and natural. Now if your dog is going for the throat and bellies of other dogs and will draw blood then of course you should never bring him/her to a dog park. If you can not control him and walk off after leashing him leave him home! But if you walk with others who understand this, you may learn that your dog can walk healthy with other dogs! It is ashame that I see so many people that do not understand the animals and their pecking order! Rough play, and growling, to the degree of even actual "fighting" where no blood is drawn is natural!
No specific times posted outside of closed dusk to dawn. There's always people and dogs here. It's snowing? Dogs. Thunderstorms? Dogs. If your pup has that hard a time, can I recommend maybe the deptford dog park? It's a fenced in agility dog park that's been dead most times I've been there. Might work better for you.
There is a fenced in area but it's always full of dogs. I agree with the other poster in trying a different park, There is a fenced in park in Voorhees at John Connolly Park which is hit or miss on being busy. Also there's a fenced in agility park for dogs in Berlin Two on 561.
Not to sure its been a little
If your dog doesn't play well with others, the dog shouldn't be at a dog park. Do not bring him to the park
Yea there is a section and the fence is around 9ft tall.
