The best dog I ever had came from the Popcorn Park Zoo
The local shelter is the best place. There are plenty of pets that desperately need a home.
The local shelter
Check out your shelters. A lot of animals need good homes. Petsmart has specific adoption days set up with shelters. They always have cats/kittens in store. Be prepared to have minimal background check to make sure you are going to care for animal and be good forever home.
start at pet smart. we got our Skye through the animal welfare society at pet smart one day. then another organization was there this week adopting animals. so if pet smart doesn't have one there will be organization's that use the store to adopt out
PetSmart is the best place for adoption next to a local shelter in my book. The people know their stuff, I had a friend who adopted a Boston Terrier from there, is now 9 months now and still says going to PetSmart was the best place she could've gone for adoption. They always have kittens and cats up for adoption in the store. Adoption isn't immediate; but the staff are always willing to help and are extremely kind and caring, and make sure these feline beauties find good homes. I have 2 older cats of my own, and my husband wants to adopt another one for both our BDays (both within 2 wks of eachother); and we've already got it our eyes on two at PETSNART. I buy the best quality food there, and got Advantix 2 there to prevent an almost flea problem; they recommended it and it worked. Best pet store for adoption and any pet needs. Anything my vet recommends they have! 🐕🐈
I love my Pet Smart, i have gotten 3 of my cats there. If you want a puppy, i would certainly go to my local shelter.. PetSmart usually has older dogs on pet adoption days. Your local shelter is your best bet to get a new fur friend.
I agree with Gary. However, you should also check with your local shelter.
