Call and ask usually you can't on a criminal charge unless you have a Drs note and you will have to fax it you will go to sessions court twice your first date will be and appearance date to ask if you want and attorney etc.then they will give you a trial date to handle your charge so basically what I'm saying is your first court day is just for you to show up and ask if you want counsel it's usually doesn't take very long the judge is a good man and very fair
