Now that the Aventura Hotel has opened you can actually walk from Sapphire Falls to Volcano Bay. I think it will be a 10-15 minute walk only.
Actually it's a short drive from the resort. The resort provides all the transportation so you don't have to drive. The boats are used to visit City Walk, Universal Studios, & Islands of Adventure. You can also visit the other resorts via the boats & use their facilities such as the pool or eat in their 5 star restaurants.
