Correct....If you didn't pre-pay you are okay. If you pre-paid did you book through the rental car company or a discounter like Hotwire? If booked through a discounted and you pre-paid then you can't get a refund.
If its not pre pd, u are ok. If u booked online, then open confirmation and look for modify this reservation. If all else fails contact 800 number with your reservation info.
If you haven't paid you dont need to cancel. Most of The car rentals bookings are only to set the rental rate. There is no obligation as far as my experience goes.
