Christopher, You appear to be a young guy. More recent aroptions are more open legally and easier to search. Start with the agency that managed your adoption. If they are not close by, just call. All private agencies have post adoption staff to help you. If it was a foster adoption, it will be tougher because the adoption was the likely result of some form of abuse. Best of luck. And lots of people have found their family by using DNA testing and making the results public through ancestry.com.
My husband was adopted it was a close adoption. From Hope Cottage. He has a daughter married with children from a former girlfriend. He would like his medical records released to him for any medical issues pertaining to the children. His adopted dad passed away and he wants closure. Thank you
