Glad you'll be coming in for genealogy research! Bring in whatever family history information that you know already--names, dates, places of ancestors--starting with your parents/grandparents. Any birth/marriage/death certificates that you have are useful. If you have a family tree, bring that with you as well. When you arrive at the library, after registering in our Welcome Center on the 1st floor, come to the 2nd floor reference desk, where a librarian skilled in genealogy research can assist you. Let us know if you have any other questions. Best, Alex. (Director of Communications for the Newberry)
