I have a 92 lb chocolate lab, 8 yrs old and our vet believes he has a torn ligament in his knee. He's been on medication for 3 weeks and is not getting any better. Are you able to give me a rough idea of how much the surgery will cost us ? Thank you

Hi Lynda, We recommend that you give us a call for estimated cost. If you schedule a surgery consult they will give you a more detailed estimate at that time. Our number here is (585) 424-1277. Thank you.

Most vets will probably recommend TPLO surgery for a dog that heavy. It will run around $3,700 to $4,600 - there is a weight cut off where the prosthetic cost increases. You might be able to save a few hundred by taking the dog to a teaching school...I checked and decided not to - not enough saving to have to take a hurt dog cross country for additional care. We had our 120 pound dog done here (he had an accident). They were great and the dog runs like nothing ever happened. We had a 90 lb dog (gone now), where we used a different technique (about $2,000). She never regained full motion, I always regretted the decision.
