Took my dog here as an emergency because his surgery wound opened Saturday night (surgery wasn’t performed here). When we arrived at 6 am they told us they needed to take the dog with them to the back and we could go so we didn’t have to wait for the Doctor that was going to be in at 7 am. We weren’t in no rush we explained that we have a challenging dog. We are thinking they will sedate the dog in the back but no they didn’t. My dogs wound got worst during the time they had him. They finally asked us to stay with him in a room which it was what we would’ve preferred. Very bad experience For us since we took our dog in for an emergency and they made it worst.

I would not recommend bringing your pet here unless it is a life or death experience. I was told that my cat had a broken leg (my regular pet determined that it was not broken the next day) and they'll want to run tests that are not necessary. I was not able to be with my cat while she was examined. I had to talk with the vet on my phone. My questions and concerns were not addressed so I took my cat home. The vet would not tell me definitely if she would fix her leg even after doing testing that she wanted to do. It cost me $188 for a misdiagnosis

I can't say enough good things about this practice from my experience thus far. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the doctor was very informative, nice, and patient. Didn't feel pressured into any one choice and am looking forward to my pet having a better life due to your expertise. Thank you!

This rand per son is 100% wrong. There are several reason you should neuter and spay your pets. It is best to get established with a regular veterinarian to discuss the benefits and risks of neutering your dog. If you do not have a regular vet, search Monroe Veterinary Associates and there are several vet offices and contact information all over Rochester. Best of luck to you.
My daugther just took her puppy there they bill her 5,200 they gave her two days to get 2,600 it was hard next two days we didn’t have money complete we pay 534 then after that they made option seen we pick up our puppy 3 payment of 454 in three payment don’t do it they goin tell u the only hope it’s apply for card credit they don’t even approve much
There are only certain days that there is an opthomologist at VSES, so definitely give them a call. They will do a consult appointment first and then give you a surgical estimate. Your regular veterinarian may also be able to set this up for you
VSES will take exotic animals, but bear in mind that they do not specialize in them. You would do better to go somewhere like ARK if you have an exotic. They know more about them.
No appointments needed, you can expect to pay about 3 to 4 hundred.
Glenda, if your pet is vomiting we recommend giving our office a call and providing more information about what is going on.
If you think your pet may have an ear infection, we recommend seeking care from your general practice veterinarian.
We do not accept Paypal. We accept cash, credit, Care Credit, or you can apply for our in-house financing option. Please call us if you have additional questions (585)-424-1277.
Cayce, Unfortunately, we do not have veterinarians on our team who specialize in exotics. We are very limited in what medical treatment we can provide. However, if one of the doctors on staff is willing to assess your pet, we can attempt to provide basic treatment until your pet can be transferred to a facility that cares for exotic pets. Please call us if you have further questions (585) 424-1277.
Hi Lynda, We recommend that you give us a call for estimated cost. If you schedule a surgery consult they will give you a more detailed estimate at that time. Our number here is (585) 424-1277. Thank you.
Thanks for your help I appreciate it and yep its def a hamster
Hello Nicole! While VSES does not specialize in exotics, they do have many experienced Veterinarians on staff 24/7 and will gladly do their best to treat rabbits. If you need emergency services during regular business hours, they will most likely refer you to an exotics specialist in the Rochester area, but will treat any animal smaller than a cow/horse to the best of their ability if needed, especially after hours.
I would call and speak to the staff at VSES, they can advise you whether you should bring her in or not.
