Thats not how it works. You can walk through museum campus for free, but each individual place you have to pay to enter (Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium).
Each museum or building cost something to get in, but the actual museum campus outside you are free to walk around. If you are a Illinois resident they have free days during some days of the month. Citypass can get you a discount if you want to go to multiple places.

I dont exactly remember, we bought the express pass booklet i believe its $120-200 but it includes tickrtd to all of the museums/aquariums and allows you to skip the lines at willis tower and the tilt building
