There are stairs at each street that has a bridge going over the river. If you go to the harbor by the entrance to the Chicago River there is a paved path that leads right down to the Riverwalk.

The Chicago Riverwalk is an open, pedestrian waterfront. There are many access points easy to spot once you are there.

Anywhere along the river... The main archway is across from Trump Towers... But either side is great.
