Rental is necessary if you plan on having a big party and you want to assure you will have the spot you want. If someone else gets there before you and you have rented the space they HAVE to move. So to assure you will have full use of space another party cannot get there before you and claim it. We would always send someone up early to claim a spot then decorate to kind of hold it perse. But one year someone didn't see the reserved sign and they spent an hour setting up. Next thing we know the party that reserved the spot came to set up right in the middle of our party. We had to move everything and everyone. It was a pain non the less! We had to cram everything and everyone onto and around a single picnic table because everything else was now taken. So play it safe and reserve.
The pavilions and BBQ pits must be reserved and rented. The information is on their web site. There are other uncovered picnic tables you can use for parties without renting.
Rental is available, but not necessary
