I've seen them go thru the xray scanner with hip replacements and also taken aside privately for security. All depends on the day with TSA. Oh....veryyyyyy long lines at PHL in the a.m. so give your self plenty of time.

Yes. But sometimes you will be singled out for more screening.

Let the TSA agents know and they will help you. Anyone with an implanted device, or joint receives special screening which takes this into account.
