Can anyone tell me what is required to get a box of food and a coat or winter clothing

I brought a paper from the DHS office they give you a paper when you sign up for food stamps or any type of Public Assistance

You have to apply for food stamps first then take your proof along with SS cards and proof of address to apply. I'm not sure if they need anything else. That's what they asked for when I applied.
