Yes, NOLA weather is gentle most days of "winter" so pick a day with your ideal temperature and head out to have fun. The aquarium is indoors so no weather concerns
We were at the Zoo during Christmas week, and it was in the mid 60s temperature, slightly overcast. We saw a lot of animals, and it was easy to cover the whole zoo under 3 hours. I would recommend it! Also did the Aquarium on a rainy afternoon..it was fun. Try the sting ray feeding and parakeet feeding. Combo tickets for Aquarium and Zoo can be found under $35 online on some sites..so it is worth it!
Being Louisiana and Winter a hit or miss season down here, the zoo will depend on the day you visit. If you want a better guaranteed experience, the aquarium and bug museum are the ways to go. Aquarium has the parakeet pen which is really cool and the bug museum has the butterfly room which is awesome.
This time of the year might be a little cool for the animals to be out at the zoo. It would pay to visit the aquarium because all the animals and fish are located inside. And the walking tour is totally air conditioned.. Next year try the Zoo around Christmas time for the Lights
Yes no crowds. Great weather
