I have an annual membership and I was there a couple days ago. All of the animals were active and it was a lot of fun! One of the orangutans just had a baby, and she comes out with her... it's great to see them together!
November can be a great time to visit New Orleans in general. Regarding the zoo, I think the animals are a little more active because there isn't the intense heat of the summer. I do recommend visiting the zoo in the morning. The animals know when it's closing time and tend to stand by the enclosure doors waiting to go inside. When we visit, we tend to head to the swamp exhibit at the furthest point first and work our way towards the front of the zoo.
We just went and were able to see the tiger, bear, orangutans, elephants, rhino and otters. We didn't see a lot of alligators like during the summer. I think it will jist depend on the weather.
Really depends on the weather. There should be some moderate days.
