Half day is completely fine. It is a decent size zoo but not a all day venture. If you choose to do the cool zoo portion (the kids waterpark/lazy river), 5 or 6 hours would be more realistic.

It is best to do the whole day. There are so many things that will peak their interest and keep them engaged. When they get to Monkey Hill, you could expect to be their at least a fourth of the time of your visit. Also, pack you and the kids swimming suits. This time of the year you will definitely want to visit the water park. Bring water. Stay hydrated and have fun.
Make a day of it the kids will want to stop at every turn. They have made a lot of changes in the last year. Have fun, drink lots of water it's very hot!!!
The cool zoo is a must with grade school kids! Then it's best to do zoo then water park to cool off!
We didnt do the cool park and went thru in about 2 1/2 3hrs thats incl at sit in the rocking chairs visit to the gift shop and pet a baby alligator!! I agree that 6 hrs would be good if doing all as u can do the waterpark last to cool off 😄Hope this is helpful!
A half of day would be just fine. Especially with the heat! Unless.. You do Cool Zoo as well.. Then you can come and go through both as many times as you please.
