You're probably referring to Camp Harkness. That's still there, and from what were told, still used for the same purpose. Harkness Memorial State Park is right next to the camp.

Camp Harkness is run by CT DDS and it's for individuals with disabilities an this families. Harkness memorial state park is a separate area open to the public.
