It is am amazing attraction. So much history in that old fort. Worth the one hour ferry ride (look out for dolphins) and tour.
It is a National Monument! Great attraction for the young and young at heart! It is a great way to touch part of the history of the South.
Yes. Ft. Sumter is a National Monument (not a National Park) and the minument dies not charge an admission fee. However, the tour boats to get there cost $22/adult ( less for others) and the only way you can really get there is by boat. If you want to spend longer at the fort you can return on a later boat than the one you arrived on,assuming there is a later boat.
You have to ride a ferry to the fort. And that is not free. But it is worth it.
Yes. The artifacts were AMAZING. You must take a ferry there, but the ride goes by quick. You can grab a bite and do some dolphin watching on the way. It's very pleasant.

Ft Sumpter is a National Park now...it was a military fort...It is not free...you get there by boat...ck with Spirit Tours...u can board from 2 different sides...block out about 3 hours time...cost is $22 ...
