The war was over slavery. Some people will attempt to sugar coat and say states' rights, but the state right in question was slavery. It was a cancer ripping us apart, and we had to eliminate it.

No, it was over states rights. Slavery is what they teach you now. The north brought the slavery issue in to win over defectors from the south, a political thing. After the war the north still had slaves
