Skidaway Island is on the Atlantic, but there are no access points for traditional beach visitors. Tybee Island is the beach community so that's where you go for swimming, kayaking, etc. Travel time from Skidaway depends on time of day. It's about 15 miles, I think. With the Truman Parkway and then Victory Drive, East US80. It's not too bad a drive.
