Why Does the Greenville,SC social security office charge you $35.00 to get you your social security card and that's on line are the allowed to charge you just to renew your social security card ???

Since the office is not open to public I just mailed them an application along with my driver's license, I just received my license by mail yesterday and expect my SS card within a week I didn't pay anything. Not yet anyways
