2 people to a lane, and sometimes more depending on crowd. If people doing stretching and not laps, then more can be in a lane. I've seen 5 in one lane before.
I have seen two people in a lane, at each end.
I rarely see the lanes in the pool have more than one person in them minus when there is a class going on.
