Are there invasive nutria rats living in the ponds? I swear the other day i saw a huge rat jump into the water around sundown.

Muskrats, not beavers. Biological cousins but they have a narrow tail.

I've seen frogs and snakes. No rats.

I've only seen small fish in the small ponds located inside the fences of the dog park.

Probably just a big rat or a opossum. I don't think we have nutria here.
