What size and type hook should I use with either live or chunk bunker, for stripers from the surf in Coney Island, Sea Gate, Sandy Hook or along the Jersey shore

It depends on what you're fishing for and where you fishing at if you're fishing around where you might catch a blue fish or shark with teeth uses still leader I usually use a 6 or 7 hook for striped bass and Bluefish monofilament leader for striped bass and still leaving for blue same size hook

#5 to #7 circle hook, however the leader is the key, barrel swivels with sliding fish finder weight snap, wire leader-line because of the bluefish issue.
