Catnip (Nepeta cataria or Nepeta fassenii) is not generally sold at garden centers but you may get it in seed form. It generally grows in a weedy form and grows 1-5 feet high. It is a runner, like many in the mint family, so can be invasive unless it is contained. The upside is that cats as well as humans can enjoy a euphoric effect and has many medicinal uses such as treating nausea, headaches or sleep disorders. This has been used since the Roman times for those purposes. Garden Centers such as Johnson's carries a cousin to catnip called catmint (Nepeta mussina) with cultivar names like "Walkers Low" or "Blue Wonder" or "Six Hills Giant" which are more decorative for the garden, but not as attractive to cats (if that is your intention) but still can be used as an herbal mint tea that is effective as a sleep aid. Hope that helps
