I would suggest using the Metro to get into DC
Parking is difficult. I have always used the DC Metro.
You can park anywhere you like for as long as you want for $100. At least that's how much our ticket cost.
In a parking garage $ 16.00, $10.00 on Sunday.
There is two hour parking across the street on Constitution Avenue for about $5
Use the Metro. It is worth it.
We found parking for $15 a day right near the National Mall area through Parking Panda app. If its not one of the busy days, you can park on the street near National Mall. But its difficult to get parking if you are not early.
Yesterday there was ample space, kind of hit and miss. If you have to drive in and dont find a space go to a metro lot.
I always park at the Reagan building near the washington monument.

Its best to park at a metro lot and ride the train. Cost will vary based on the pass you purchase
