For the most part...but use common sense. You're living in downtown and when walking around the area you need to be aware. The 7-11 on Commerce and Harwood is pretty sketchy with aggressive panhandlers.
I've been there a couple of months and would answer yes so far. All of my neighbors have been quiet in their rooms and friendly when not. There are homeless folks on Harwood regularly, but they've never done anything more threatening than ask for money.
I feel very safe. Been here 2 years.
