Across the street from big lake is the beginning of Lewis and Clark expedition starting point. Out in the most tranquil quite place I could visit. There are all these little trails. Some kind of plant really talk. So the trails are like mazes it's really cool. Ask the ranger at big lake. You would not know its there
I don't believe there are hiking trails. Indian Cave state park in Nebraska has awesome ones. Better call Big Lake and find out.
I didn't see any trails when i was there ... Lots of camping spots though tent and rv electric and primitive camping available
There are nice trails on the old highway just a couple miles south of Mound City it's a state park right there can't remember the name of it
