You can do half a day and would still not see all they have
Several days.
I would devote a full day to visiting the Art Institute. There is so much to see here. If you have only a few hours, I would still recommend a visit, but you will have to be choosy with what you want to see.
Took us over 12 hours to see it all!
Around 6-8 hours to see it all.
According your taste of art it may take 2 hours to 8 hours are even more to see such beautiful arts.
It depends on your preferences. The modern and contemporary art sections are manageable at a moderate pace in 45-60 minutes each.
The Art Institute of Chicago opens its doors to the public at 10:30AM and closes at 5PM.
Full day if you can!
We arrived via Lyft at 12 and left at closing time at 5. We spent less than an hour in the lower level cafe. We didn't even see half of the galleries. The art work is very informative and takes time to absorb. Be advised, modern and contemporary art is very disappointing.
At least 4 to 5 hours in one trip
For a quick walk around it would take 2-3 hours, but i'd set aside a whole day for it honestly.
You could easily spend a week or more here. I would say give yourself at least 1 full day. I've been to the Louvre, Tate Modern, MoMA, and more. This museum ranks with those.
