Yes, there are plenty of places to sit. We were there last weekend for 7 hrs and we needed to sit a lot :-) However, there aren't many places where you can watch the kids while sitting. There is a lot of movement between rooms and floors. If you need to keep an eye on younger kids, you'll be moving around a lot.

There's places to sit, but some areas on the first floor makes it hard to watch the kids. Give them a watch and ask them to check in with you every 15 minutes or so or pair them up with a responsible kid for the buddy system

Yes! The cave is a good place because there's only one entrance/exit so they can climb through there and you can sit by the entrance to keep an eye out.
